Crucible Patch Notes version 0.0.4


Crucible patch 0.0.4 notes:

  • Removed weapon reloading mechanic from all weapons
    • Weapons will now have a given ammo type (Light, Heavy, or Explosive) and will consume ammo directly from the player's inventory
  • Added ammo pickups
  • Changed shotgun patterns to be fixed
  • Changed shotgun patterns to have multiple rings of pellets, depending on the pellets per shot of the given shotgun
  • Added a delay between burst fire shots
    • Before you could shoot a new burst before the previous one was completed, effectively turning burst weapons into full auto
  • Modified dash from a fixed 10 meter teleport in the direction of movement into a 7.5 meter teleport with a short burst of speed upon exit
  • Added wall jump functionality
    • When in mid air and near a wall you can jump a second time
  • Added crouching functionality
    • Crouching reduces player size
  • Added crouch sliding
    • When at speed higher than the nominal maximum speed, the player can enter crouch sliding by holding crouch
    • While crouch sliding the player has decreased friction thus losing speed at a much reduced rate
    • Crouch sliding can only be enter in the forward or backward direction. Strafe inputs are ignored in this mode
    • While crouch sliding the player can still rotate while keeping momentum by rotating the camera at a steady turn rate
  • UI changes to reflect the changes to weapon functionality
  • The player now can hold only 2 weapons, but can freely swap with weapons found on the ground by holding the interact button (E) while looking at the weapon they want to swap to
